Sammy and PERPETUA are calling on the general public to hold Nurses and by extension all health workers and health institutions responsible and accountable for medical negligence, since that is the surest way to put our health system back on track. The senior nursing officers with over 10 years working experience are cautioning parents and politicians to stop pushing people with less to no passion into the profession. The experienced nurses are making a passionate appeal to all Ghanaians not to be fascinated by just structural buildings in the name of quality health care, they are challenging all citizens to interrogate the content of the human resources , ie Nurses, Doctors, Midwives, Pharmacist working in the various health facilities in the country, how were they trained, how many years, continuous professional development, etc They intimated that the difference between life and death is directly proportional to the quality and the competencies of the human resource in the health sector. On the leadership Hourwith Rev.JAK , they are making a passionate appeal to the NURSES & MIDWIFERY COUNCIL of Ghana to rise up from their slumber to take charge and full responsibility of the Training and regulation of Nurses and Midwives in Ghana. They bemoaned the neglect of the core duties of the council. According to Sammy & Perpetual, the lives of Ghanaians would not be in safe hands if the Nurses and Midwifery Council and by extension all key stakeholders do not get involved in the regulation of the Nursing profession in Ghana. They are also calling on principals of the various Nursing Training colleges in the country to sit up and be professional, not allowing politicians to infiltrate into the professional training of Nurses and Midwives in Ghana.
