Joel Duah Afi
Joel Duah Afi has over five years of experience working as a medical doctor. Currently, he is the medical superintendent at the Kukuom District Hospital in Ghana. Joel has led the effort to ensure that the facility was upgraded from a center to a hospital, serving a population of over 114,000 people in his community. He has also overseen the construction of an operating theater, maternity, and children’s ward to ensure his community has access to critical healthcare services. Joel has also leveraged WhatsApp to coordinate antenatal, delivery, and emergency referrals within his district. He has a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, and a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management and Consulting from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Joel is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of mothers and children, managing neglected tropical diseases, and implementing interventions in low-resource settings.
