You Are the Light of the World, not the church

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden...Mathew 5:14
When we think of light, we right away think of the sun. We’ve been taught that the sun is the center of the solar system and thus it is the light of the world. Some figures reveal the sun’s greatness. For instance, the sun is 93,000,000 miles from the earth. If a baby would start flying to the sun at birth and travel 150 miles per hour, this baby would be nearly 71 years old upon arrival. Also, astronomers estimate that the diameter of the sun is 109 times that of the earth. Its output of energy is 70,000 horsepower per sq. yd. per minute. Lastly, the temperature at the sun’s surface is about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
Irrespective of the distance from the sun to the earth, yet we feel the impact and the effect of the sun, and sometimes we are almost burnt with the rays of the sun. The sun is actually the light of the world that helps us to see. Can you imagine a world without the sun? Upon all the distance from the sun to the earth, every creature feels the impact of the sun on earth. If the sun is the light of the world and the believer or Christian is said to be the light of the world, can you also imagine how far the influence and the impact of the believer's life is supposed to be? This is one text that has never being understood by many christians including even some pastors. All our lights can travel just within the corridors of our churches and maximum of family, beyond that, the world does not feel our impact and presence. But it is important to reexamine our text for today thoughtfully, " You are the Light of the World". We are not told we are the light of the church, how come we have limited ourselves as just a religious cult? Ghana is too small for your influence as a light, your office is too small, your department is too small, your church is too small to be wasting all your light energy, your influence and impact must outlive and outgrow your geographical location. I believe with all my heart that I am the light of the world, am called to bring lumination, understanding, revelation and information that will bring liberation and emancipation to the body of Christ and the world at large. We are not feeling your light energy, your light is too dim, your light is going off, I connect my light to your light and I demand your light to rise to prominence in Jesus name. You do not know the energy that your light carries, arise and shine for your light has come.
In times and seasons like this your light is needed, do not look for light in the world, you are the light to shine the world, do not complain of darkness in the world, just let your light shine and darkness shall leave without combatant. This message is a wake up call and a reminder of your light assignment, your generation has waited for your light for far too long, the plants are waiting for your light for photosynthesis, the animals are waiting for your light for warmth, leaders are looking for your light for decision, the poor are waiting for your light for economic recovery, the weak and the vulnerable are waiting for your light for empowerment, the rejected and the marginalized are waiting for your light for acceptance and recognition. You are the light of your generation, you are the light in your profession, you are the light in your family, you are the light in your community, you are the light in your country, You are called as an ambassador of light, live it, walk it and reflect your light. Let your light be so clear that it can not be confused with others.
I command all this revelation to be infused into your spirit, soul and body in Jesus name.
