As part of measures put in place to increase emergency preparedness in Ghana and the Brong Ahafo region in particular, the National Ambulance Services Coordinator of the Brong Ahafo region, Dr. Dr. E.K Amponsah tours the various district to ascertain ambulance services, assess facilities in the districts for the arrival of the ambulances earmarked for each district in Ghana. His visit is in line with the health protocol in emergency preparedness in order to improve upon the health system in Ghana. Dr. Dr. E.K Amponsah doubles as the medical director of the BBrong Ahafo regional hospital, sunyani. He adviced all service providers and emergency medical technicians to keep up the high professional standard required of them in the handling of emergencies across the country. As part of his official visits, he also visits all the MCEs and DCEs as well as medical directors for the various district he visited. Among the districts he has been to are Goaso, Techiman, Kintampo, Berekum Municipal, Berekum West, Hwidiem, NkranNkwanta, Yeji, Dormaa. Dr. Dr. wants to assure the general public of the confidence in the health sector as measures are put in place to make sure we do not lose lives unnecessarily. Emergency preparedness, key to achieving Universal health coverage in the country, and one key strategy is to make sure every district has an ambulance to aid this objective.
