As part of messures to maintain aseptic environment at the Sunyani regional hospital Accident & Emergency theatre, the entire staff lead by the unit in charge Madam. Veronica Apraku Mensah last Friday 9th August, 2019 organized a mega general cleaning excercise of the theatre and its annexes, all theatre equipements, beds, tables and all instruments were thoroughly cleaned. This forms part of strategies that has being put in place by the department to ensure that surgeries that are done do not get infected. For surgeries to be successful, aseptic environment plays a major role. All the staff of the unit did the cleaning with a buoyed zeal and much excitement amidst special refreshment provided by the Unit in charge. Team work is very crucial in every unit of the health sector and can not and should not be tempered with at the theatre. The Unit in charge on behalf of the Nurse manager and the supervisor thanked all staff for coming for the excercise.
One thing that the Unit can boast of is Teamwork from all staff according to an interview that I had with the In charge and on my personal observation.
Together, building the regional hospital as a centre of excellence.
