FOHA PROJECT REPORT ON HEALTH EDUCATION  AT IMPACT SCHOOL COMPLEX, BEREKUM

On the 25th February, 2016, FOHA once again embarked upon a health educational outreach on child health at the above mentioned school in Kutre Number Two, a suburb of Berekum.

July 1st marks the 7th anniversary of the Friends of Health, Association and this year’s celebration was marked with health screening on Diabetes Mellitus, a group of metabolic disorder characterized by elevated sugar level in the blood, Hypertension, Body mass index to rule out obesity, breast examination to rule out breast cancer, prescription and administration of some drugs, health education in churches and clean –up exercise through the principal street of Dormaa Ahenkro.

FOHA has been focusing on Diabetes and Hypertension for the past six years because it is one of

the prevalent conditions in Ghana and the Berekum municipality is not an exception.

This programme is going to lso cover eye screening and general medical consult.

FOHA medical TEAM for the screening tomorrow comprises of Medical Doctors,

Doctors of Ophtholmetry, Physician Assistants, Nurses and Midwives.

Programme starts at 9am and ends at 3pm.

This programme is in collaboration with the Berekum Traditional Council.

FOHA's aim is to prevent Diseases and their complication.

FOHA IS 6 YEARS OLD

As part of foha 6th year anniversary celebration, it had a health screening for the people of Kyiri

Twedee Abontema, a suburb of Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region, Ghana , West Africa.

The indegenous people of this community are predominantly farmers and traders. The total

population of this community is about thousand.

The Friends of Health Association(F.O.H.A.) is having a mega health educational programme with the Beauticians' Association of Brong-Ahafo at the regional education office,sunyani on diabetes, hypertension and stroke on the 15-02-2011 between the hours of 11am - 11:30am. All members and executives are to take note and try to be there if  possible.

               Members and executives in the various hospitals are entreated to lift high the flag of the association wherever they find themselves. FOHA : YOUR HEALTH FIRST

As part of the programme that FOHA is doing to impact the society,  it is organizing a Mega Health Educational Outreach on DRUG ABUSE  and  Blood Pressure Assessment at Mpatapo, a suburb of Berekum come 4th December,2010 between the hours of 9am to 3pm.

Drug Abuse is defined as the episodic intake of Drug without doctor's prescription. It is recommended that you donot take in any drug without doctor's prescription. The commonest drugs usualy abused are wee, cocaine, paracetamol, coffee, alcohol,etc.

For our society to move to a better height and the people live longer, there is the need for a greater attitudinal change by all people in the society and we shall live longer to fulfil our God-given dream. Drugs should not be taken anyhow. What kind of society are we growing into? When we cast our mind and see how the youth of our day are abusing drugs, pregnant women, the aged, one thing is certain, that we are actually decreasing our lifespan on earth.

FOHA is entreating people all over the world to desist from the abuse of drugs and i believe it is going to increase productivity. COME ON, Good people of our society, let us All join hands together in Fighting this canker in our society.
