Child Empowerment
The "Child Empowerment Project" by FOHA aims to empower 2000 basic and 500 secondary school students in Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions. It includes mentorship, menstrual hygiene education, and HIV/AIDS prevention. Key Stakeholders and partners such as the Ghana Youth Authority, Ghana Health Service, traditional councils, the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection and Religious Leaders will collaborate to oversee mentorship, distribute educational materials, and promote health education among students in the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions. The initiative targets confident, informed students, with 200 already engaged.
Smart Food Card
In line with Sustainable Development Goal 1: END HUNGER, FOHA in partnership with HUMAN VENTURE, A UK Organization is rolling out a Smart food project to support the weak and the vulnerable in society with some food items. The target beneficiaries for this project include people with disabilities, families that struggle to feed and take care of the food needs of their families.
Mobile Clinics and Outreaches
Bringing professional health care to the doorsteps of the community has been an overarching vision of FOHA since its inception. FOHA has conduct over 200 medical outreaches reaching over 10000 indivduals. Through these mobile clinics several lives have been touched and saved. Our team of experts have detected and referred over 2000 cases, if not for the mobile clinics, they may not have been detected and treated.
Medical Education and Advocacy
Together with our media partners, FOHA brings health and medical education to the people of the Bono region. FOHA has a collaboration with Greena FM, Heavens FM, Angel FM/TV, UTV and sevreal others to bring valuable and informative health matters to the people. FOHA also visit various institution to provide health education to them.
Blood Donation Drive
Blood banks in various health facilities suffer for from low patronage of blood donations. This happen largely due to unstubstantiated claims, thus the need to educated the public on the need and benefits to donated. FOHA in collaberation with various institutions have organized blood donation exercises to stock the Sunyani Teaching Hospital and Holy Family Hospital, Berekum.
HIV/AIDS Advocacy
FOHA is a key partner of Ghana AIDS Commission(GAC). FOHA has collaborated with GAC, UNAIDS, MIHOSO INT. and other institutions to advocated for the prevention, treatment and stigma erradication drives on HIV/AIDS for over 10 years. FOHA continue to be a leader in HIV/AIDS awareness in the Bono Region and continuesly leads in the organization of World AIDS day activities.
