FOHA FOOD PROJECT

In line with Sustainable Development Goal 1: END HUNGER, FOHA in partnership with HUMAN VENTURE, A UK Organization is rolling up a Smart food project to support the weak and the vulnerable in society with some food items. The target beneficiaries for this project include people with disabilities, families that struggle to feed and take care of the food needs of their families. Extreme hunger and malnutrition remain a huge barrier to development in many countries. There are 821 million people estimated to be chronically undernourished as of 2017, often as a direct consequence of environmental degradation, drought and biodiversity loss. Over 90 million children under five are dangerously underweight. SDG 2 aims to end all forms of hunger and malnutrition by 2030, ensuring all people – especially children have sufficient and nutritious food all year. This informs the FOHA FOOD project to support the weak and vulnerable in Ghana. The pilot project is taking place in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region of Ghana with 50 beneficiaries. The FOHA HUMAN VENTURE FOOD Project is expected to continue for three years plus. DZIGSAM SUPERMARKET, SUNYANI, will provide the FOHA services. The Project Directors are JEFFERSON KWASI AGBOTRO, CEO of FOHA – GHANA and OLGA DIACHENKO, CEO of HUMAN VENTURE – UK.
