Despite the essential role that the private health facilities across the country plays in the health sector of Ghana and its valuable contributions to the growth of the economy, much attention have not been given to it's challenges it face in the bid to deliver quality health care to the citizenry of Ghana. It faces challenges such as lack of posting of Medical Doctors, Nurses, Midwives and it's allie professionals in order to expand the scope of their work and reduce the strain and stress they face daily in Ghana. In it's maiden meeting for the Bono , Bono East and the Ahafo region after it's formation three years ago, 32 private health facilities came together to deliberate on the progress of the association so far, the challenges impeding their growth and to consolidate the gains made in the past years for competitive advantage. The co- founder and president of the Association of private facilities of Ghana, Dr. Samuel Buabeng - Frimpong outline some of the progress the Association has chalked such as inclusion of the private health facilities in the development of strategic plan and policy documents for the health sector of Gahana, Environmental Protection Association categorization, closing of National Health Insurance reimbursement gap, SNNIT penalties waived for members, penalty issues for members addressed out of court settlement. Dr. Samuel Buabeng - Frimpong urged all members to remain resolute and committed to the course of the Association in order to improve upon the health of Ghanaian. According Dr. Buabeng, the association's door is opened for strategic partnership with organization for an enhanced service delivery. The association has branches across the 16 regions of Ghana and he urged members to take their documentation of report seriously in order to influence policy and policy Advocacy in Ghana.
The Association also selected it's interim executives for the Bono, Bono East and the Ahafo region and tasked them to project the vision and the aspirations of the organization in the region. Dr. Samuel Buabeng and his able executives urged the members to remain committed and resilient in the association in order to augment the efforts of central government in the delivery of Universal Health Coverage ( UHC) and to ensure the achievement of SDG 3 by 2030
