Vice Chancellor of UHAS, Professor Lydia Aziato was honoured by the Chiefs and people of Akato-Wudoaba, her hometown, in the Ketu South Municipality during a Durbar held in her honour on Saturday, August 13, 2022 upon becoming the third Vice Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences.
Professor Aziato is the first nurse in Ghana and West Africa to be appointed Vice Chancellor of a university.
Honourable Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Dzifa Gomashie, who also graced the occasion, pledged to institute an award scheme to sponsor the education of best performing fwmale students in the BECE and WASSCE in the Ketu South Constituency .
Chief of Akato-Wudoaba, Torgbui Nyakeli Totsofia VII commented highly the Vice Chancellor for her attainments and urged the youth to emulate her perseverance and determination to succeed.
Recounting her own story of humble beginning, Professor Aziato entreated the youth not to give up on their dreams. She reiterated that one's background should not be a hindrance to achieving his/her potential.
